Caló des Moro – The most wonderful natural cove in Mallorca

When you ask Mallorca experts which cove on the island has impressed them the most, one name often comes up: Caló des Moro. This small, cliff-encased natural cove in the southeast of the island is considered one of the most beautiful – not just in Mallorca, but in the entire Mediterranean region.
Caló des Moro is located on the coast of the municipality of Santanyí, southwest of Cala Llombards towards Cap de Ses Salines. From the Villa The Crystal Bay, it can be reached in about 30 to 40 minutes by car.
Why Caló des Moro is so special
Vertical limestone cliffs frame the cove and make the water glow in an incredible blue-green. The extraordinary water clarity delights every snorkeler. No sun loungers, no kiosk, no music – just rocks, water, and the sound of the waves.
How to get there
Not directly accessible by car. Park at Cala Llombards and walk the well-marked path for about 15 to 20 minutes. Arrive early – best around 8 or 9 AM, as the cove gets very crowded from 10 AM during the high season.
Swimming and snorkeling
The water is exceptionally clear, but deeper than at a sandy beach due to the rocks. Snorkeling along the cliffs is fantastic. Be sure to bring snorkeling gear!
What to bring
Since there are no facilities: enough drinking water, sunscreen, sturdy footwear for the walk, and a camera. An excursion that you will rave about for years to come.
