Alpine Mountain World – From Sóller to Cap Formentor

If you really want to get to know Mallorca, you must experience the Serra de Tramuntana. The UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in the northwest of the island is the scenic heart of Mallorca – an impressive mountain world with peaks up to 1,445 meters, deep gorges, and ancient olive groves.
Our recommended route leads from Cala Pi via Palma to Sóller, through the picturesque Fornalutx to Lluc, and finally to Cap Formentor. Plan for a whole day.
Station 1: Sóller – The Gateway to Tramuntana
Sóller is located in the valley of the same name, nestled between orange groves and the steep slopes of the Tramuntana. The Modernisme architecture of the main square and the friendly atmosphere make Sóller the ideal first stop. Buy orange liqueur as a souvenir!
Station 2: Fornalutx – One of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain
Just a few kilometers behind Sóller lies Fornalutx, which has been repeatedly awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Narrow stone streets, flower-decorated balconies, and a breathtaking view over the valley.
Station 3: Lluc
High up in the Tramuntana lies the Lluc Monastery, the most important pilgrimage site in Mallorca. Surrounded by dense oak forests, Lluc radiates a deep tranquility. Lunch at the monastery restaurant is recommended.
Station 4: Cap Formentor
The northern tip of Mallorca offers one of the most stunning views of the island from the lighthouse. The access road is winding with sensational views. In high season, traffic restrictions may apply – check in advance!
