Caves of Drach – Mallorca's Underground Wonder

Below the surface of Mallorca lies a world that few expect: a labyrinthine system of stalactite caves and millions of years old limestone formations. The Caves of Drach – the Dragon Caves – near Porto Cristo are among the most impressive natural wonders in Europe.
Accessible in about 50 minutes by car from Villa The Crystal Bay, this destination delights the whole family and leaves memories that last a lifetime.
The Formation of the Dragon Caves
Over millions of years, water and time have created this fascinating cave system. At its heart is Lake Martel, one of the largest underground lakes in the world, measuring about 177 meters in length.
The Tour
The guided tour takes you through four interconnected cave chambers. The atmospheric lighting makes the stalactite formations appear in a dramatic play of light and shadow. Particularly impressive is the White Cathedral with its ceiling covered in thousands of stalactites.
The Concert on the Underground Lake
At the end of the tour, a classical concert takes place on Lake Martel – musicians in illuminated boats on the underground lake, while the music echoes through the cave. Afterwards, visitors can also row their own boats.
