Beach and Cove: Swimming in the Crystal Clear Cala Pi

Imagine this: You open the door of your luxury villa in the morning, the warm Mediterranean air greets you – and in just a few minutes, you are standing at one of the most beautiful natural beaches in Mallorca. Welcome to Cala Pi. The cove that inspired the name of Villa The Crystal Bay is not just a beach – it is an experience that engraves itself deeply in your memory.
The beach of Cala Pi is a natural beach that gently slopes into the water with fine sand and remarkably clear water. You can walk about 100 meters into the water before the ground disappears beneath your feet – ideal for families with children and for anyone who just wants to splash around in the turquoise Mediterranean. During the summer months, trained lifeguards provide additional safety.
How to Reach the Beach
The walk from the house to the beach takes no more than five minutes: Simply walk 100 meters up the road and then down the steps directly to the beach. The harbor area is very slippery in the ramp area – be careful there. The swimming area is clearly marked by yellow buoys in the summer.
The Best Time to Visit the Beach
If you want to experience the cove in its calmest form, you should go to the beach early in the morning between 8 and 10 AM or in the late afternoon from 5 PM. The light at these times makes the water glow in a particularly intense turquoise. Water temperatures can reach up to 27 degrees in August and September.
Jellyfish – What to Do in Case of Contact?
Depending on the wind direction, jellyfish may occasionally be present in the cove. In case of contact: Do not rub! The most effective method is to rinse with vinegar or saltwater. Please do not use fresh water, as this activates the stinging cells and intensifies the pain.
What You Should Bring
The beach of Cala Pi is a natural beach without sunbed or umbrella rentals. Pack your own beach gear: towel, sun umbrella, sufficient sunscreen, and water. A snorkeling set is highly recommended – the underwater world right in front of the beach is fascinating. Nearby are the family-run restaurants of the village of Cala Pi.
