The Neighboring Cove Cala Beltran – Untouched Nature to Discover

Sometimes the most beautiful treasures are just around the corner. Just a 15-minute walk from Villa The Crystal Bay awaits you one of the most mysterious and untouched coves in all of Mallorca, Cala Beltran. No beach kiosk, no sunbeds, no crowds – just you, nature, and the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea.
The right bank of the Cala Pi cove is completely designated as a nature reserve, and the adjacent Cala Beltran has remained in its original state to this day – a true natural gem on an island that is otherwise heavily developed for tourism in many places.
The Path to Cala Beltran
The ascent begins at the end of the fishermen's houses in Cala Pi. From there, a well-marked path leads through the nature reserve – moderately challenging, over rocks and through Mediterranean maquis, about 15 minutes in one direction. Wear sturdy footwear and bring enough water, as there are no supply options at the cove.
What to Expect
Those who overcome the final ascent will be rewarded with a sight that truly leaves one speechless: a small, wild romantic cove nestled between high limestone cliffs, with water in an incredible turquoise color. The seclusion is its greatest gift – here you will find the tranquility that is so hard to find during the high season in Mallorca.
Flora and Fauna Along the Way
The walk leads through typical Mallorcan maquis of rosemary, cistus, lentisk, and juniper. In spring, the plants bloom in purple and white, and the scent is intoxicating. Keep an eye out for lizards on the warm rocks and various bird species in the nature reserve.
The Best Time for the Trip
The trip is most beautiful in the early morning hours or late afternoon. In spring and autumn, Cala Beltran is particularly attractive: the water is still pleasantly warm, the air cooler, and nature in full bloom.
